The list of participating practices is available below.
July 2007
The first recall/reminder letters were sent to patients in July. The letter encloses a leaflet which has information about the Dorset scheme as well as the list of participating practices. A copy of the leaflet can be found in the Leaflets sections.
November 2006
A new patient information leaflet has been published and will be available in GP practices, optometrists, pharmacies and hospital diabetes centres from mid December.
May 2006
A patient information leaflet detailing changes to the Dorset Diabetic Eye Screening Programme has been published and is being distributed via GP practices, opticians practices, pharmacies and hospital diabetic centres.
April 2006
The new server, called Nemesis, has been installed at Poole Hospital. The server will host the Orion screening software and the database created by Graphnet.
March 2006
Contracts have been signed with Orion to provide the screening software which will be installed in participating optometry practices, Royal Bournemouth Hospital, Poole Hospital and West Dorset County Hospital. The Orion software will also provide the patient call and recall facilities, quality assurance, audit information and send screening results to patients.
February 2006
Contracts have been signed with Graphnet to provide the data extraction software which will take the list of patients from primary care and secondary care to create the central database. The Graphnet system will also be used to feed the results information from Orion back to GP practices for filing electronically in patient records.
