Eye Screening

In Dorset, an optometry based diabetic eye screening service has been working very successfully for 20 years. Since 1 January 2007, the service has been provided using digital photography to meet the national standards introduced at that time.

The Dorset Diabetic Eye Screening Programme (DDESP) is part of Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust.

Key staff within the Programme are:

Mrs Non Matthews, Clinical Director and Consultant Ophthalmologist
Ms Mandy Sullivan, Programme Manager
Mr Steve Taylor, Optometric Advisor
